Description

Warm and fluffy cinnamon rolls made with simple ingredients, perfect for chilly mornings or gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 cup cold butter
  • 1 ⅔ cups buttermilk
  • 5 tablespoons butter, melted
  • ⅓ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the buttermilk until a dough forms.
  5. Roll the dough out into a rectangle, spread melted butter, sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 pieces.
  7. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes.
  8. Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for the icing and drizzle over warm rolls before serving.

Notes

Best enjoyed warm. For a lighter texture, avoid over-mixing the dough.
