- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons baking powder
- 1 cup cold butter
- 1 ⅔ cups buttermilk
- 5 tablespoons butter, melted
- ⅓ cup packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Stir in the buttermilk until a dough forms.
- Roll the dough out into a rectangle, spread melted butter, sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 pieces.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes.
- Whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla for the icing and drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
Notes
Best enjoyed warm. For a lighter texture, avoid over-mixing the dough.
