Description

Buttery Herb Stuffing is a comforting dish made with cubed bread, aromatic vegetables, and a mix of herbs, perfect for seasonal feasts and cozy dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 loaf of bread (about 12 cups, cubed)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 celery stalks, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon dried sage
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 34 cups vegetable or chicken broth
  • 2 large eggs (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion, celery, and minced garlic. Cook until softened.
  3. Stir in thyme, sage, and parsley. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Combine the sautéed vegetables with the cubed bread in a large bowl.
  5. Gradually pour in 3 to 4 cups of broth, stirring until the bread is moist but not soggy.
  6. If using, add beaten eggs to the mixture and transfer to a greased baking dish.
  7. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, until the top is golden brown and crispy.
  8. Serve warm as a delicious side dish.

Notes

For best results, use somewhat stale bread. You can substitute different types of bread or broth to suit dietary preferences.
