Description

A hearty comfort food dish featuring boneless chicken breasts topped with barbeque sauce, cheddar cheese, and crispy bacon.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Cook bacon in a skillet until crispy, about 5-7 minutes, then remove and drain.
  2. Crumble the cooked bacon. Rub chicken breasts with olive oil and season with spices.
  3. Sear chicken breasts in the same skillet over medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Chop green onions and prepare barbecue sauce. Reduce skillet heat to medium.
  5. Pour barbecue sauce over chicken, add cheese, and top with crumbled bacon. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven, top with green onions and optional red pepper flakes. Let rest briefly before serving.
