Description

A bowl of creamy mashed potatoes infused with garlic, perfect for family gatherings or cozy dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds potatoes
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Chives (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by peeling the potatoes and cutting them into even-sized chunks, roughly 1 to 2 inches.
  2. Place the potato chunks in a large pot of salted water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat and cook until tender, about 15 to 20 minutes.
  3. In the last minute of boiling, add the garlic cloves to the pot.
  4. Once tender, carefully drain in a colander. Then, return the mixture to the pot to keep warm.
  5. Add the butter and heavy cream to the potatoes, then mash until smooth and creamy.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and garnish with chopped chives if desired.

Notes

For a dairy-free option, use plant-based butter and unsweetened almond or oat milk instead of heavy cream.
