Description

A comforting dish featuring juicy steak and crispy fries, perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb steak (ribeye or sirloin)
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme
  • 2 large potatoes (for frites)
  • Oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) for the frites. Cut the potatoes into thin strips and soak them in cold water for 30 minutes.
  2. Fry the potatoes in hot oil until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and season with salt.
  3. Season both sides of the steak with salt and black pepper. Sear in a hot skillet for about 3-4 minutes per side.
  4. Baste the steak with melted butter, minced garlic, and fresh herbs for an additional minute.
  5. Let the steak rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.
  6. Serve the sliced steak alongside the golden frites and enjoy.

Notes

For the best results, soak the potatoes for crispiness and ensure the oil is at the right temperature when frying.
