- 1 lb flank steak or beef short ribs
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Taco shells
- Cabbage slaw
- Sliced green onions
- Sesame seeds
Instructions
- Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, minced ginger, and optional red pepper flakes. Whisk until well combined.
- Marinate the Beef: Add the flank steak or beef short ribs to the bowl, cover, and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Grill or Sear the Beef: Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the beef from the marinade and discard the marinade. Grill the beef for about 5-7 minutes on each side, until desired doneness.
- Rest and Slice the Beef: Let the beef rest for 5 minutes, then slice it thinly against the grain.
- Assemble the Tacos: Fill taco shells with the sliced beef. Top with cabbage slaw, sliced green onions, and sesame seeds.
