- 12 large pasta shells
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup lemon zest (finely grated)
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
- 1 egg
- 1 cup spinach (cooked and chopped)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and cook pasta shells in salted water until al dente.
- Combine ricotta cheese, lemon zest, Parmesan, egg, and spinach in a bowl; season with salt and pepper.
- Fill each pasta shell with the ricotta mixture.
- Spread marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Arrange the filled shells seam side up in the dish and cover with more marinara sauce.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbling and golden; garnish with fresh basil before serving.
