Description

A comforting dish featuring pasta shells filled with a creamy lemon ricotta mixture, topped with marinara sauce and garnished with fresh basil.


Ingredients

  • 12 large pasta shells
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup lemon zest (finely grated)
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup spinach (cooked and chopped)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and cook pasta shells in salted water until al dente.
  2. Combine ricotta cheese, lemon zest, Parmesan, egg, and spinach in a bowl; season with salt and pepper.
  3. Fill each pasta shell with the ricotta mixture.
  4. Spread marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  5. Arrange the filled shells seam side up in the dish and cover with more marinara sauce.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbling and golden; garnish with fresh basil before serving.
