Description

Indulge in these rich molten chocolate lava cakes, perfect for a sweet date night or cozy evening in. With a gooey center and simple ingredients, they’re both impressive and comforting.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease two ramekins with butter and dust them lightly with flour.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chopped dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Heat in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
  3. Stir in the powdered sugar until fully combined.
  4. Add the eggs and egg yolks one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Then, mix in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gently fold in the flour and pinch of salt until just incorporated.
  6. Evenly divide the batter between the two ramekins. Bake for 12-14 minutes until the edges are set but the center is soft.
  7. Let cool for 1 minute, then invert onto a plate and enjoy warm.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream; add raspberry sauce or fresh berries for an extra touch.
