Description
A light and healthy twist on classic Bolognese made with zucchini noodles instead of pasta, offering comforting flavors without the heaviness.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 medium zucchinis
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Olive oil for cooking
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Spiralize the Zucchini: Use a spiralizer to turn the zucchinis into noodle-like strands and set aside.
- Sauté Onions and Garlic: Heat olive oil in a skillet, add onion and garlic, sauté until translucent.
- Cook the Ground Beef: Add ground beef to the skillet, cook until browned, then drain excess fat.
- Make the Sauce: Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper, simmer for 15 minutes.
- Sauté the Zucchini Noodles: In a separate pan, sauté zucchini noodles for 2-3 minutes until tender.
- Serve and Garnish: Place zucchini noodles in a bowl, top with Bolognese sauce, and garnish with fresh basil.
Notes
Ensure to pat the zucchini dry to avoid a watery dish. Drain excess fat from the beef for a cleaner sauce.
