Description

A quick and simple recipe for pan-seared halibut fillets cooked in a rich garlic butter sauce, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 halibut fillets
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Lemon wedges for serving
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add 2 tablespoons of butter and let it melt until it starts to bubble.
  2. Season the halibut fillets generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. Sear the halibut fillets in the skillet, skin-side down, for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden.
  4. Flip the fillets over and add the remaining butter and minced garlic to the skillet. Stir to combine and baste the fish with the garlic butter.
  5. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the fish turns opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Serve hot with lemon wedges and sprinkle with chopped parsley if desired.

Notes

Look for firm, fresh halibut fillets for the best results. This dish pairs well with a variety of sides, such as green salads or roasted vegetables.
