Description

A delightful beef taco salad packed with vibrant flavors and textures, perfect for gatherings or a cozy family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 3 cups lettuce, chopped
  • 1 cup tomatoes, diced
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup corn, canned or frozen
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • Tortilla chips, for serving
  • Sour cream and salsa, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.
  2. Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  3. Add the taco seasoning to the cooked beef and follow the package instructions, usually adding a small amount of water and simmering.
  4. Prepare the salad base in a large bowl by combining lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, black beans, and corn.
  5. Toss the salad gently to distribute the ingredients evenly.
  6. Cool the beef slightly to prevent wilting the fresh ingredients.
  7. Assemble the salad by layering the cooled beef on top of the prepared salad.
  8. Serve with sliced avocado, tortilla chips, sour cream, and salsa on the side.

Notes

Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option; avoid adding hot beef directly to fresh vegetables.
