- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a large baking dish.
- Cook the ziti pasta according to the package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- Brown the ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic in a skillet over medium heat, draining any excess fat afterward.
- Stir in the marinara sauce and simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Combine the cooked ziti with ricotta cheese and half of the mozzarella in a mixing bowl.
- Add the meat sauce mixture and stir until well combined before transferring to the greased baking dish.
- Spread the remaining mozzarella and grated Parmesan over the top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
