Description
A refreshing and tangy key lime tart with a buttery graham cracker crust, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 4 large egg yolks
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
- 3/4 cup key lime juice
- 1 teaspoon lime zest
- Whipped cream (for serving)
- Lime slices (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). While the oven is heating, gather your graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter.
- Mix the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar, and melted butter in a medium bowl until combined. Press this mixture into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch tart pan.
- Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
- Whisk together the egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk, key lime juice, and lime zest in a separate bowl until smooth.
- Pour the key lime filling into the cooled crust and spread it evenly.
- Return the tart to the oven and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until the filling is set but still slightly jiggly in the center. Remove and let cool to room temperature.
- Chill the tart in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving to enhance flavors.
- Slice the tart, add whipped cream on top, and garnish with lime slices. Enjoy!
Notes
Ensure the tart is chilled for optimal flavor and texture. Optionally, serve with a mixed green salad or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
