Description

Enjoy warm, fluffy cinnamon rolls with this easy overnight recipe, perfect for cozy mornings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, instant yeast, and salt. Mix well to evenly distribute the ingredients.
  2. Warm Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, warm the milk until it is just above room temperature. Add the melted butter to the milk for a nice smooth blend.
  3. Combine Mixtures: Pour the milk and butter mixture into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Add the eggs and stir until a dough begins to form.
  4. Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise overnight in the refrigerator.
  5. Prepare Rolls in the Morning: In the morning, roll out the dough into a large rectangle. Spread the softened butter over the surface, sprinkle with ground cinnamon and brown sugar, then roll up the dough and cut it into individual rolls.
  6. Final Rise and Bake: Place the rolls into a greased baking dish and let them rise until they have doubled in size. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Make the Icing and Serve: In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar with milk until smooth to create your icing. Drizzle it over the warm rolls and enjoy!

Notes

Great for potlucks and brunches. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
