Description

A comforting blend of classic meatloaf and Philly cheesesteak flavors, this dish is perfect for family meals and gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). While the oven warms up, grease a baking dish to prevent the meatloaf from sticking.
  2. Add a splash of oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the chopped onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms until softened and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, and egg in a large bowl. Add the sautéed vegetables along with Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in your prepared baking dish.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  6. Top with provolone cheese and return to the oven until melted and bubbly.
  7. Let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing to allow juices to settle.
