Description
A comforting blend of classic meatloaf and Philly cheesesteak flavors, this dish is perfect for family meals and gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). While the oven warms up, grease a baking dish to prevent the meatloaf from sticking.
- Add a splash of oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the chopped onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms until softened and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, and egg in a large bowl. Add the sautéed vegetables along with Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in your prepared baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
- Top with provolone cheese and return to the oven until melted and bubbly.
- Let it rest for about 10 minutes before slicing to allow juices to settle.
Notes
Allow meatloaf to rest after baking for the best texture. Season to taste before baking.
