Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup long-grain rice
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of onion soup
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (Swiss or Gruyere)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook until caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet and season with garlic powder and onion powder. Cook until browned.
  4. Combine browned beef, caramelized onions, rice, beef broth, and cream of onion soup in a large baking dish.
  5. Bake covered in the oven for about 45 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle cheese over the casserole and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes until melted and bubbly.
