Description

Delightful baked donuts infused with the sweet flavors of maple and crunchy pecans, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Whisk together the buttermilk, maple syrup, egg, and melted butter in another bowl.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix gently until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chopped pecans.
  6. Spoon the batter into the greased donut pan, filling each mold about two-thirds full.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool the donuts in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Mix the powdered sugar and maple syrup in a bowl for the glaze.
  10. Dip the tops of each donut into the glaze and let the excess drip off.
  11. Allow the glaze to set for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Choose fresh, unsalted pecans for the best flavor, and consider toasting them before chopping for an enhanced nutty taste.
