A warm and creamy potato gratin layered with Gruyère cheese, perfect for family gatherings or a cozy night in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese, grated
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. Layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom, spreading half of the minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  3. Sprinkle half of the Gruyère cheese over the first layer of potatoes. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  4. Pour the heavy cream evenly over the layered ingredients.
  5. Dot the top with butter and cover with aluminum foil.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden and tender.

Notes

Try using starchy potatoes like Russets or Yukon Golds for the best texture. Adjust seasoning according to taste.
