Description

These homemade huckleberry cinnamon rolls are warm, comforting, and perfect for family gatherings or a cozy breakfast.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup huckleberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the yeast in warm milk and let it sit until frothy.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Add melted butter and egg to the flour mixture, then pour in the yeast mixture.
  4. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl until doubled, about 1 hour.
  6. Roll the dough into a rectangle and fill with butter, sugar, cinnamon, and huckleberries.
  7. Form the rolls by rolling tightly and cutting into pieces.
  8. Let the rolls rise again for about 30 minutes.
  9. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
