Description

A comforting turkey giblet gravy that brings warmth and richness to your holiday meals with tender giblets, creamy soup, and a hint of herbs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Giblets and neck from one turkey
  • 2 cups chicken stock or broth
  • Water, enough to cover the giblets
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 1/2 cups cream of chicken soup
  • 1 hard-boiled egg
  • Optional: salt and black pepper to taste, a pinch of poultry seasoning, and fresh thyme, sage, or rosemary

Instructions

  1. Simmer the giblets and neck in chicken stock until tender, about 30 minutes.
  2. Hard-boil the egg in a separate pan.
  3. Build the gravy base by combining butter and cream of chicken soup in the broth.
  4. Chop the giblets and neck meat into small pieces.
  5. Combine the chopped giblets, neck meat, and egg back into the gravy, and heat through.
  6. Serve warm over cornbread dressing or stuffing.

Notes

This rich gravy pairs well with cornbread dressing, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and roasted turkey. Adjust seasonings according to taste.
