Description
These Juicy Skillet Turkey Burger Patties are simple, hearty, and perfect for a family dinner, cooking quickly in just one pan.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lb ground turkey (93% or 97% lean)
- 2 tsp kosher salt
- 1 to 1 1/2 tsp ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 2 heaping tbsp grated onion, including its juice
- Nonstick cooking spray, for the pan and your hands
- Buns and toppings of your choice, for serving
Instructions
- Mix the turkey patty mixture by combining the ground turkey, kosher salt, black pepper, garlic powder, mayonnaise, beaten eggs, and grated onion in a large bowl. Stir gently until everything is evenly mixed.
- Chill the mixture by covering the bowl and refrigerating for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.
- Heat a skillet by coating it with nonstick cooking spray and heating it over medium to medium-low heat.
- Shape the patties by dividing the turkey mixture into 6 portions, shaping each into a ball, and then pressing them flatter in the skillet.
- Cook the patties for about 5 minutes per side, or until they reach 165°F in the center.
- Serve the turkey burger patties on buns with your favorite toppings or bun-free with a side dish.
Notes
Chilling the mixture helps it firm up, making shaping easier. Ensure that the skillet heat is controlled to cook evenly.
