Description

A classic Maine style lobster roll, filled with fresh lobster, creamy mayo, and topped with chives and lemon, all served in buttery toasted rolls.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb cooked fresh lobster meat, chilled
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise (extra-heavy mayo, if available)
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted, plus more as needed
  • 4 New England-style split-top hot dog rolls
  • Fresh chives, minced, for topping
  • 1/2 lemon, cut into 4 wedges

Instructions

  1. Prep the lobster by cutting and tearing it into large chunks, checking for shell fragments.
  2. Gently coat the lobster in a bowl with mayonnaise until just coated.
  3. Toast the rolls by brushing them with melted butter and grilling until golden brown.
  4. Fill each warm roll with the lobster salad, dividing equally.
  5. Finish with minced chives and serve immediately with a lemon wedge.

Notes

For the best flavor and texture, serve immediately and do not let the rolls sit too long after toasting.
