Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
  3. Pour in the melted butter, add the eggs, and stir in the vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gently stir in the all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips, if using.
  6. Using a tablespoon, drop dollops of the batter onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers remain soft.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
