Description
A comforting Slow Cooker French Dip Sandwich made with tender chuck roast, rich beef broth, and melty provolone cheese served on toasted hoagie rolls.

- 3 lb chuck roast
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Season the chuck roast generously with salt and pepper, and place it in your slow cooker.
- Pour 4 cups of beef broth over the roast, then add the packet of onion soup mix, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and dried thyme.
- Cover the slow cooker and set it to low for 8-10 hours or high for 5-6 hours.
- Remove the roast from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks, letting it sit in the juices for about 10 minutes.
- Butter the hoagie rolls and place them under the broiler for a couple of minutes until golden brown.
- Assemble the sandwiches with a generous heap of shredded beef and 2 slices of provolone cheese on each roll.
- Broil for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Strain the cooking liquid from the slow cooker into bowls for dipping.
- Serve the sandwiches with bowls of au jus for dipping.

Customize your sandwich toppings as desired; consider adding sautéed mushrooms or fresh herbs.
