Description

A heartwarming dish of baked beans cooked slowly to perfection in a tender, sticky sauce, perfect for cozy gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound dried navy beans
  • 6 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups water

Instructions

  1. Soak the navy beans in water overnight.
  2. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, then remove and drain.
  3. Sauté the diced onion in the reserved bacon fat until softened.
  4. Combine the soaked beans, crispy bacon, sautéed onion, maple syrup, brown sugar, ketchup, Dijon mustard, salt, black pepper, and water in the slow cooker.
  5. Set the slow cooker to low and cook for approximately 8 hours.
  6. Check the consistency of the beans and serve hot when done.
