Description

A delightful Southern dessert featuring layers of creamy pudding, fresh bananas, and crunchy vanilla wafers, perfect for family gatherings and special occasions.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1/3 cup of cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 4 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 1 package of vanilla wafers
  • Whipped cream for topping

Instructions

  1. Combine the milk, sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium heat while stirring until thickened, about 5 to 7 minutes.
  3. Whisk the eggs in a separate bowl and temper them with some hot mixture.
  4. Return the tempered egg mixture to the saucepan and stir in the vanilla.
  5. Layer the pudding with bananas and wafers in dessert cups.
  6. Chill for at least 2 hours and serve topped with whipped cream.
