Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Combine applesauce, sugar, brown sugar, and vegetable oil in a large bowl until smooth.
- Add eggs and mix until fully incorporated.
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in another bowl.
- Mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Fold in chopped walnuts if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
