- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
- 1 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Combine the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt in another bowl and gradually mix into wet ingredients.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped pecans.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, drizzle with half of the caramel sauce, then pour in the remaining batter and top with the rest of the caramel.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs.
- Cool in the pan before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
For best results, do not overmix the batter and check for doneness a few minutes before the maximum baking time.
