Description
A warm, hearty slow cooker dish featuring tender beef and vibrant broccoli in a savory sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 pounds beef (flank steak or sirloin), sliced thinly
- 1 cup broccoli florets
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- Cooked rice (for serving)
Instructions
- Combine the beef, broccoli, beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil in a slow cooker. Mix everything together well.
- Cover your slow cooker and set it on low for 6-8 hours, or high for 3-4 hours.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, about 30 minutes before serving, mix the cornstarch with a little water and stir it into the slow cooker.
- Serve the beef and broccoli over a bed of cooked rice.
Notes
Ensure not to overcook the beef and add the broccoli later on to prevent it from becoming mushy.
